Heather Barlow Sheldon wrote Seymour's Night  Flight  for her son Nathaniel.  It began as a bedtime story, inspired by the seagull mobile that has hung in each of her three children's rooms from the time they were born.  Each summer, Heather and her family vacation on Nantucket, an island rich in history, natural beauty and  wonderful family traditions.

Seymour's Soaring Red Sox, the second book in the Seymour Stories Collection, was written after Heather and her children lived through the agony and the ecstasy of the 2004 Boston Red Sox' thrilling series against the New  York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals. It is a tribute to the example set by the team that wouldn't give up, at long last bringing Boston a World Series title after 86 years.  Heather is a Bostonian and lifelong Red Sox fan.
